Kansas Firefighters Museum

The Kansas Firefighters Museum is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Preserving history, it features:

  • American LaFrance Metropolitan steam-powered pumper
  • 1921 American LaFrance fire truck
  • Memorial Wall of Fallen Firefighters
  • Memorial Courtyard
  • Final Call statue by Wichita artist, Dorothy Koelling
  • Hundreds of artifacts giving a glimpse of Kansas firefighting history

What’s in store for the future?

  • Double the size of the museum
  • Bring more antique apparatus and artifacts that are currently in storage
  • Create an interactive fire prevention area for children
